20. Modesty, Fashion, & Finding Your Personal Style

Tune in on Apple Podcasts

How can people start to find their own personal style?

1) Find your worth. Where does your identity belong? Find out how God views you as a dignified woman of God.

2) Know how to style your body shape. It’s easy to look at other women and instantly want to dress like them because they have cute outfits. It’s great to be inspired, but you first need to identify what type of body shape you have. For example, I have an hourglass body shape, so dresses that have an elastic waistband fit better than a loose baggy dress.

3) Pick pieces that will reflect God. Choose clothes that dignify you as a woman of Christ. Clean through your closet and get rid of any clothes that are not modest or may not fit you anymore.

What is one piece of advice that you want every young Catholic woman to know?

“Modesty protects the intimate center of a person. It means refusing to veil what should remain hidden, it guides how one looks at others and behaves towards them with a dignity of persons. Women who dress modestly are not hiding themselves from people. She is revealing her true dignity to people.” -Gaby
